Regent's Park Public Convenience

Regent’s Park, London
Client:  Royal Parks
listed: grade 1 listed landscape
Project Status: Planning permission granted, 2007

A new public convenience to replace an existing facility in Queen Mary's Gardens in the grade 1 listed landscape Regents Park.  The bulk of the building would be clad in rough sawn English Chestnut, unsealed to weather and blend in with the surrounding vegetation.  The porch protrudes out to be visible from the near-by path and would be lined with lacquered timber to make a safe, attractive entrance.

High level glazing would bring the colours of nearby vegetation and shadows of the foliage into the building while from outside the glass would reflect the surrounding trees
